Just a little entry for myself for all my random prego thoughts...this pregnancy has been such a huge (no pun intended) blessing in my life. I am SO excited to become a mommy and see Luke as a Dad. With pregnancy comes so many emotions of course. It is so crazy to think that 1. I am growing a human inside of me and I can see and feel him move all the time. 2. I am going to have a child. 3. Luke and I will be responsible for this child...our very own child...not our niece or nephew that we can play with and send home later...4. I cant wait to see him and hold him and love on him...Luke says I can't baby him that he is going to be a man Ha I want to see him try not to baby him, I think Luke will be worse than me!
This is not a complaint, just a Side note, I have gained 20lbs. Crazy. Like any person seeing those numbers go up on a scale isn't fun, however the weight gained is well worth the little sugar I will be holding soon! I am SO excited. It is so crazy how much your body changes when prego...like bending over-those cute sandles with the buckle FORGET THEM cuz I cant bend over that long without dying...and Luke just laughs... I am NOT excited to have to go back to work after, but that's life and I have wonderful job so can't complain too much.
Also: My cousin has created a very interesting/educating blog about pregnancy. She is going to be a first time mom like me come September and has been trying to educate herself as much as she can before her little man comes. It's very informative and I love reading it. I have always been scared of epidurals and always say I will go natural...which is the "plan", but I am a sucker for anything that takes pain away so who knows what I will do when I am dying in labor...Anyways, Check it out here.
I have 2 kids. The first I did with an epidural, and the second I did natural. Since I've done it both ways, I feel like I can speak for both sides and I totally recommend doing it naturally! It was the most amazing experience! (I thought when I ran my marathon it would be a similar experience, but the marathon didn't even compare to how I felt after a gave birth to Henry naturally!) I am planning on doing it again with my third baby.

I think it might be a little harder to have a natural birth with your first pregnancy. At least it was for me because I was so scared since I hadn't ever done it before and I didn't know what to expect. BUT, you CAN do it! Two things though, you have to want to do it and you have to be prepared to do it.
thanks for the plug :) i'm so glad you're enjoying it! i think if you have the desire to go naturally, then yes, you CAN do it!!!
ReplyDeletecan you believe our boys will be here in 3 short months?!!!
Don't worry about your weight! I gained 50 lbs with Hallie...and especially since it is so hot, you will probably retain water.
ReplyDeleteI really want to do it naturally again, whenever I have another one, even though I hated it with Jaxson. But I think if I am more prepared it will be better. Both epidurals gave me really bad shakes and nauseousness. I'm going to check out that blog.
Can't wait to have a new nephew (yours) and nephew/niece (Meagan's). Maybe that will satisfy my baby hungriness.
Shawnie! You can totally do it natural! But you have to have your mind set 100% otherwise it will be easy to just get an epidural.{especially if youre in the hospital with an OBGYN} Educate yourself as much as you possibly can. Watch the movie "The Business of Being Born" by Ricky Lake. My favorite thing I read was a compilation of other womens natural birth stories. They were fascinating to me and as weird as this sounds, as I was in labor with Nash, all of these different stories were coming to my head. They were very inspiring. Knowledge is power so eduate yourself as much as possible- {theres my 2 cents for ya!} oh and the book I read was actually an E-book. I downloaded it for free here. Let me know if it doesnt work and Ill try to find a different site! Its called Journey Into Motherhood: Inspirational Stories of Natural Birth http://www.birthingbusiness.com/Book/InspirationalBirthStories.pdf {if you cant download it for free, its definetly worth buying!
ReplyDeleteStill can't believe that you're pregnant! that is so exciting! you look super cute too! you should have Luke put those super cute buckle sandals on for you and tell him to STOP laughing. :)
ReplyDeleteShawnie, you look so good! Your belly is so perky! :) He is going to be a darling boy! Little Otto.
ReplyDeleteMikelle, you are baby hungry???? But you have a little tiny baby (1 year old).
